New buds have opened taking the place of the flowers that were so battered by the torrential rain.
A single foxglove surrounded by lucious green.
A shrub covered in white flowers with a pinky blush at the centres. (I haven't managed to find out what these are.)
The bee didn't seem to mind one little bit that a swollen thighed beetle (weird name!) was in its way - it just clambered over it.
Pure white flowers (hardy geraniums?).
Korean pine cones. Not so many lower down this year but quite a few higher up.
Deutzia (we had to ask the gardener!)
Sambucus (Plantsnap told me!)
Spindleberries forming.
Cornus beginning to discolour. (They'll look like stained brown paper eventually and the middles will turn red.)
These look fizzy to me!
Allium
Eryngium (sea holly)
There are some legs appearing on the left.
and a little bit more. A tiny spider!
Love this colour combination!
Similar colour scheme but a softer pastel version.
Peony.
A different spindleberry tree - this one will have a huge amount of berries if they all develop.
Big bumble bee on a big allium.
Oxeye daisies (?) among the other wild flowers and grasses.
There's a little green passenger under the flower in the middle.
Poppy - these are still gorgeous!
Another one of those little swollen thighed green beetles.
The middles fascinate me. So many textures and patterns.
Just to the left of the yellow californian poppies you might be able to see the gardeners hat. He was collecting a barrow load of plants to put into the flowerbed nearest to the long shelter.
Catmint and Alliums.
Thank you very much for joining me.
what gorgeous pics!
