Autumn colours and a chill in the air (Coombe Wood)

A grey morning with an autumnal chill in the air.

Flower beds ready to be planted

The willow tree is shedding a lot of leaves into the pond.

Gorgeous colourful vine leaves.

A cascade of leaves on this little tree - from delicate green to yellow, orange and brown.

Another similar tree further up the path had some striking red leaves in front of it.

Red berries.

 Orange berries.

Two flower heads had been precisely placed on the arm of a bench.

Most of the leaves have fallen from the Golden Rain Tree leaving just the showers of pods.

The leaves towards the top of the Liquid Amber Tree are changing colour now.

Most of the leaves on this tree have fallen revealing clusters of berries.

Little acer with a pool of leaves underneath.

Fatsia bud.

Another one opening.

Banana flower still doing its thing....

....and the other one.

Leafy path.

Almost all of the seeds have fallen from the Korean Pine cones leaving a few seeds at the bottom of the attractive "cores".

Callicarpa berries - deepening in colour......

......tiny purple pearls

Colourful leaves on the grass.

On my way towards a patch of sunlight through the trees deer tracks criss crossed the paths..

Beech nuts and leaves.

It's strange to think that this insignificant collection of bare of twigs was a stunningly colourful tree not very long ago.

If I hadn't stopped and turned around to take a photo of the little bare tree I wouldn't have seen these bright leaves among the green background.

The walnut tree is looking much more established and healthy now.

Beech nuts.

A few tiny flowers.

Bottlebrush-like flowers.

Bright shiny berries.

I was surprised to see some more of the tubular petalled cosmos flowers peeping through (and supported by) the pale fluffy grasses

"Normal" cosmos flowers looking beautiful against the purple asters.

(Phone photo)

Tiny fuchsia-coloured fuchsias

The gardener has been working on the top flower bed.

It must be backbreaking work to fill all those flowerbeds!

Some of the delicate flowers that are left at the edge of  one of the flower beds.

Lichen on dead fronds of a tree by the pond. Those fronds almost look as if they've been braided.

 Tiny cones.

I made a detour to admire the vine leaves again on my way to the gate.

Thank you very much for joining me.
