Arty journeys...

LITTLE ARTY JOURNEYS . . . LOOKING CLOSER, SEEING DEEPER.

A Thursday morning walk with a friend (Coombe Wood)

It's good to have some company when walking and different things happen with different people. I didn't take as many photos as usual while walking with this friend - we were quite busy chatting!

Icy pond.

There was such a distinct line between the edge of the icy patch which makes the top left corner of the photo look blurred in contrast to the clear reflections in the rippling water on the right, disturbed by the waterfall.

The way the light was falling on this tree trunk attracted my attention - a combination of knobbly bits and deep vertical shapes made a pattern that reminded me of smocking.

These little dwarf irises are so close to the ground. From a distance they look like bits of screwed up paper on the ground but getting closer you can see the delicate stripes and dots on a pastel blue background with splashes of yellow.

Sunlight on tiny buds.

This little succulent in the alpine trough is much smaller than it looks here

and these funny little seed pods (I think that's what they are) are like miniscule papery shovels.

Rhododendron tree by the arch. A bud (I think) although very strong red is showing on this one and I didn't think these flowers were red.

No colour showing on this one - unless it's cream - maybe there are two plants here?

Thank you very much for joining me.
